Crate & Barrel Home Store – Ross Park Mall 

Furniture and home store retailer Crate & Barrel recently expanded operations into the Pittsburgh region with the construction of a new modern stand alone structure at the Ross Park Mall in the North Hills.  Jendoco Construction was selected as General Contractor to perform both the structural shell and interior fit out.

The project scope consisted of a two story 24,600 s.f retail building.  The project delivery method incorporated Building Information Modeling (BIM) which included a fully clash-detected 3D design model.  Through the use of these 3D digital design technologies, field coordination was completed early in the process.  The interactive design allowed Jendoco to perform construction capabilities with great detail and accuracy.

The first floor included an 18,000 s.f. high end retail space with curtain wall entrances, sharp angled cedar and pine ceilings.   Maple wood and porcelain tile make up the sales area floor systems.   A barrel vaulted skylight system spans the length of the building providing a source of natural light.  Exterior improvements consist of new sidewalks, landscaping, decorative lighting and modern louver assemblies creating a sun shade feature for building temperature settings.  The second floor consists of operations offices, and storage.

This project was completed on schedule for the 2010 Christmas season, delighting both the owner and shopping community.
