Carnegie Museum Service Enclosure
As part of Jendoco Construction Corporation’s Dinosaurs in Their Time project, Jendoco provided general contracting services for the construction of the Carnegie Museum Service Enclosure.
The Service Enclosure is a unique blend of thermal plastic curtain wall and metal panel siding. The enclosure houses two loading docks, trash compactor, and 30 yard dumpster location. The Service Enclosure occupying a highly visible location helps to form the gateway to the entrance of the Carnegie Museum of Natural History and the Carnegie Library.
The unique features of the Service Enclosure includes a “green” butterfly garden roof, natural ventilation, enhanced day lighting, and a unique hanger door that conceals the compactor and dumpster. Some of the unique problems Jendoco faced on this project were the difficult steep site and the need to maintain current delivery access to the facility while the project was under construction.
The Service Enclosure has garnered AIA local, regional and national awards and Jendoco is honored to be part of the team that completed the project on time and on budget.
