Rodef Shalom Phase I & II
The Phase I Restoration of Rodef Shalom included a complete interior and exterior reconstruction. Specialty trades involved include Gustavino roof tiles and exterior terra cotta replacement and restoration. The entire interior of the main sanctuary included gold leafing of the reliefs and columns, restoration of the pews, leather covering entrance doors, removal, cleaning and reconstruction of the skylights. Also included was new lighting, acoustical enhancements and a new heating and air conditioning system.
The work was completed while portions of the Rodef Shalom School were kept in operation. The project also involved fire restoration of a portion of the mezzanine seating area.
Jendoco was then selected 9 years later to serve as Construction Manager on the next phase. The Phase II project included the expansion of the existing kitchen facilities, classroom renovation, auditorium renovations, performance hall renovations and the addition of a major Porte Cochere.
The project was selected as the best project over 5 Million dollars by the Master Builders of Western Pennsylvania in 2003.
