St. Vincent College - Monastery Renovations

Saint Vincent College Monastery Renovations

The existing Monastery, constructed in the 1970s, was in need of additional area and systems upgrades. This was accomplished by extending the existing basement area by 12’ along the entire side of the building under the cantilevered first floor. There were a total of ten bays of this added floor and new exterior walls.

Work included a new entrance, expanded fitness room, tailor shop, laundry, art storage, workrooms and bicycle storage. Existing interior crawl spaces were converted to provide approximately 1,150 s.f. for monastery and congregational archives.

Mechanical and electric systems were completed on a design-build basis from design parameters prepared by TKA. Features include dehumidification and waterless fire suppression system for the archive and art storage areas and a new fire alarm system for the entire building.
