Jendoco Construction Corporation was selected through a design-bid process by West Virginia University to complete the $2 Million Dollar addition to the Main Classroom Building at their Parkersburg Campus.

The structural integrity of the existing building was showing evidence of failure due to an expansive underground clay condition. Cracking of the existing walls of up to two inches in many areas, needed structural reinforcing in order to stabilize the building.

The damaged exterior walls were removed and replaced with a curtainwall. This new curtainwall revitalized the campus image with its architectural design and added daylight to the interior classroom environment.

Due to the nature of the controlled movement allowed by the 3 braces, the curtainwall itself was designed to move. Every vertical glass panel was designed to move left and right and the slab anchors allow movement vertically.

The project was completed six weeks ahead of schedule.
