Waterworks Mall
A. Site Development:
The site had been owned by the City of Pittsburgh Water Authority. Under the surface were slow sand filter beds that purified water through gravity filters. There were hundreds of 20’ x 20’ domed concrete rooms that had to be excavated and demolished; a process that took months to complete prior to actual construction. In addition, the site was traversed by a 72” diameter and 60” diameter water lines connection two reservoirs to the current water treatment plant that had to be protected.
B. Project:
Completed site work and shell construction for 36 acre shopping center. Project accommodates a 90,000 SF Giant Eagle, T. J. Max, Marshalls, Barnes & Noble, five restaurants, two banks, Pier One, and approximately twenty smaller tenants. Jendoco completed the tenant fit out for many spaces.
